I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, I am number nine of ten siblings,
from a very young age I was highly motivated by the need to grow as individual and the fulfillment of helping others, so I moved to the United States in 2007 to pursue new opportunities.

I became one of many other Puerto Ricans who have come to the United States to follow their dreams, get a better job, and gain a higher education. Motivated by the great experience of helping others, I decided to enroll into Nursing School.

Some of my family still lives in Puerto Rico and some have moved to the States. While Spanish is my first language, I also speak English and Portuguese.

The decision to enter into the nursing field has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Through this excellent career I have the opportunity to touch individuals daily and become part of their life. I’m grateful for the opportunity and experience that I attained daily through the practice of nursing. Thanks to nursing, I have developed myself as leader, educator and advocator. I became an Advance Registered Nurse Practitioner with the concentration of Family Practice because of the need of the community. In addition to my personal desire to do much more for my patients.

As leader I always strived for excellence; I encourage daily my patients to gain control of their health. As an advocator I facilitate communication of care between healthcare providers to assure my patient’s rights and needs are put first. Lastly, as an educator I always encourage communication and active participation between family members as its proven that in conditional support from family members is necessary for a better and faster recovery of ill patients.
